The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies... Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.
This quote is from debate on the floor of the senate on March 20, 2006 made by Senator Barack Obama (D-IL)
Surprised? Me too.
For those wondering, after reading paragraph #1 above, if I voted for Barack, consider this: I will vote for Barack Hussein Obama just as soon as he admits he enjoyed the sermons of Reverend Wright, who he listened to for 20 years, and apologizes for his hatred of the United States. I'll also consider voting for him when the person he married admits she's never been proud of The United States.
I sometimes wonder how many times a liberal can change their colors to promote themselves. It's expediency at its best.
